Verse 1:
The cows all ask me if I’m okay,
As I stumble through another day.
Tripped on a rake, fell in the hay,
But my city girl ain’t got much to say.
I stepped in mud up to my knee,
The rooster pecked the life outta me.
But she just stands there, looking so fine,
Sipping her latte like everything’s fine.

Chorus:
The cows all ask me if I’m okay,
They’ve seen me fall ten times today.
The barn collapsed, I got kicked in the shin,
But she just shrugs and gives me a grin.
I’m bruised, I’m battered, and I smell like hay,
But the cows, at least, care in their own way.
Oh, the cows all ask me if I’m alright,
But my city girl’s quiet, like it’s all outta sight.

Verse 2:
I tangled with a bull, got tossed like a sack,
Fell face-first in a puddle, landed flat on my back.
The tractor broke down, now it’s stuck in the muck,
And I swear that pig just bit me for luck.
I caught my boot in the chicken coop door,
And let’s not talk about what the sheep did before.
But my girl? Oh, she doesn’t blink an eye,
Just checks her phone while I nearly die.

Chorus:
The cows all ask me if I’m okay,
They’ve watched me limp through this whole day.
I stepped in a hole, and the fence came down,
While she scrolls Instagram without a frown.
I’m sore, I’m aching, and covered in grime,
But at least the cows check in from time to time.
Oh, the cows all ask me if I’m alright,
But my city girl’s chillin’ like it’s just another night.

Bridge:
I swear I saw Bessie give me a wink,
As if she knew I was on the brink.
The chickens clucked like they knew the score,
While my girl ordered shoes, probably four more.

Verse 3:
I’m dodging manure like a dance gone wrong,
Got tangled in wire and shocked all day long.
A goat chewed my hat, I spilled all the feed,
But she just says, “Babe, do you need anything?” (Indeed.)
She doesn’t see the chaos I’m in,
Or maybe she’s used to my daily spin.
But those cows, they moo with sympathy,
As I wonder why she doesn’t notice me.

Chorus:
The cows all ask me if I’m okay,
They’ve seen me crawl through a field of dismay.
I slipped in some muck, took a dive in the pond,
But she just stares off, all nice and blonde.
I’m tired, I’m sore, but the cows seem to know,
While my girl’s busy with her fancy show.
Oh, the cows all ask me if I’m alright,
But my city girl’s quiet, in her world out of sight.

Outro:
So here I am, on this farm full of pain,
The cows keep asking, through sunshine and rain.
But my city girl, she’s got nothing to say,
Guess I’ll just keep farming, come what may!
