All We Know

Verse 1
Out here on the prairie, where the sun burns bright,
We’re ridin’ the range and wranglin’ cows by daylight.
But when the day’s done, we ain’t sittin’ still,
We’re plowin’ up the fields on our John Deere until.

Pre-Chorus
We’re ropin’ steers and plantin’ seeds,
The cowboy life’s all about meetin’ needs.
From the saddle to the soil, we work non-stop,
That’s life for us cowpokes and crops!

Chorus
Cowpokes and crops, it’s all we know,
With a lasso in one hand and a hoe in tow.
From feedin’ the herd to plantin’ the corn,
We’re livin’ this life from dusk to dawn.
We’ll wrangle that steer, then plow the plot,
We’re built for cowpokes and crops!

Verse 2
Well, it’s leather boots by morning, muddy boots by noon,
We’ve got that cowboy swagger and a farmer’s tune.
We ride with grit, then grow with pride,
There ain’t nothin’ like a harvest and a good cattle ride.

Pre-Chorus
From the barn to the barnyard, we make it all work,
Our hands know the hay and the soil’s good dirt.
From herdin’ cattle to raisin’ crops tall,
We’re workin’ both sides of this rural hall!

Bridge
We got bales of hay and rows of beans,
Ridin’ that line between two dream scenes.
One minute we’re ridin’, the next we’re sowin’,
That’s how life is when you keep on growin’.

Outro
Yeah, cowpokes and crops, that’s how we roll,
With boots in the stirrups and dirt in our soul.

Cowpokes & Crops

Cowboy Poetry by Alan Nafzger (2001)

Out here where the prairie meets the sky so wide,
We wrangle cows and ride with pride.
The sun beats down, but we don’t stop,
‘Cause life’s a balance of cowpokes and crops.

With boots worn in from the dust and toil,
We saddle up, then turn the soil.
From lassoing steers to planting rows,
This is the life every cowboy knows.

Cowpokes and crops, that’s our creed,
A lasso in one hand, and the other, a seed.
We rise with the dawn and work till night,
Riding and plowing, both our birthright.
We’ll wrangle that steer, then sow the land,
‘Cause we’re built for life with a hoe in hand.

The fields stretch out like an ocean of green,
We ride through both worlds, no in-between.
One minute we’re herding, the next we’re sown,
In the dance of the land, we’ve fully grown.

In the morning light, our leather boots shine,
By noon they’re caked in earth, both yours and mine.
We ride with grit, but the pride’s the same,
In a harvest’s bounty or a cowboy’s reign.

The barn’s our chapel, the soil our hymn,
We give thanks to the land and the work within.
From raising cattle to crops that climb high,
We walk this line with our heads to the sky.

Cowpokes and crops, the life we sow,
With a lasso in hand and a field to grow.
We tend the herds, we till the earth,
Livin’ this life for all it’s worth.
From dawn till dusk, our hands don’t stop,
‘Cause we’re built for cowpokes and crops.

There’s rows of beans and bales of hay,
In both, our hearts forever stay.
One minute we’re roping, the next we’re tending,
It’s a life that’s tough but never-ending.

Cowpokes and crops, it’s in our soul,
With boots in the stirrups and dirt in the bowl.
We’ll raise that steer, then plant the corn,
This life’s been ours since the day we were born.

Yeah, cowpokes and crops, that’s how we roll,
With boots in the stirrups and dirt in our soul.
